Martial arts and culture by people who called the play blows betawi Beksi born from the ability of elected people who constantly trainsensory sensitivity, or the flexibility to process excess anatomy and learn as much as possible of the natural signs such as the rippleof the river, wind, motion and behavior of tigers, monkeys, centipedes, grasshoppers, etc. (page 19).
According to this book, the origin of beksi there are several versions.
a. The first version. This version is narrated by an elder Beksi: H Atang Lenong (age 84 years, when the interviews in 2001). Beksi began to surface in the period mid-19th century around the year 1850 to 1860's. At this time there is a landlord in the Tangerang area named Gow Hok Boen who lived in the village kosambi. This accidental landlords will love martial arts and sciences kuntao or kung fu master. Local people know tangerang Gow Hok Kedaung Boen as landlords.
As a landlord, Mr. Gow has many hitman to help him. Head centengnya named Ki Kenong which has a high martial arts and blended with a mighty sorcery. Interested in martial arts, landlords are holding a contest to find a greater champion than centengnya head office and got a position as head of the guard replaces. So every night of the week was held pibu aka duel with a lot of heroes who want to complain against science and good luck with Ki Kenong.
But of the many challengers yet none have managed to beat Ki Kenong. There is an artisan tersebutlah boiled cassava (or cassava ancemon ointment called) named Mr. Jidan that every night selling cassava in the crowd show this duel. Mr. Jidan take cassava from the forest near where he lived and cassava are endless and as there is a nurturing, but because in the forest Pak Jidan not bother. One afternoon, when the pack Jidan resting at his home he was approached by a young man protested that he was planting cassava and kept in the forest was taken by pack jidan. Not knowing any pack Jidan apologize. Seeing the innocence and kekjujuran Jidan pack and a poor life, the mysterious man offers to help pack Jidan maen blow by giving lessons; without looking at the time that Mr. jidan been aged around the 60's.
In short, Mr. jidan receive lessons maen blow as much as 8 moves and three or four more have not been taught, which will be taught by others. Before you go people ask for mysterious frankincense and advised that he could be called - if the pack jidan require - by burning incense and chanting. When they left, Mr. Jidan see a tiger tail sticking out from under his robe and striped neck looks like a tiger skin. Mr. jidan was shocked and advised that he visited and taught maen blow by Ki Striped or Demon of White Tiger.
The next night, pack Jidan selling as usual in the middle stage duel. Annoyance caused by the whiz-whiz who do not pay while eating cassava wares, basket wares Pak Jidan kick and floated into the middle of the arena. Gow landlord got angry and told people to drag Mr. Jidan middle of the arena and forced to fight with Ki Kenong.
Unexpectedly, Mr. Kenong Jidan able to defeat in the sciences taught by the Ki Belang. According to legend, the moment was baroneng Pak Ki Kenong Jidan cripple science which is famous for 'blow flaming hands'. When asked by Mr. Gow about the science used by Mr. Jidan, he did not know what it's called.
